Jean Paul Gaultier
Jean Paul Gaultier showed his first collection in Paris in 1976 and spent the following decades dismantling fashion's rules, putting men in skirts, casting outside the industry's narrow ideal, and turning the Breton stripe, the corset and the conical bra into permanent house signatures. Gaultier retired from the runway in 2020, and after a run of guest designers the house has been led by Duran Lantink since 2025. His collections keep the provocation but move it forward: trompe-l'œil bodysuits, sculptural tailoring, reworked denim and upcycled construction. Expect striped knitwear and tops, corsetry-influenced dresses, sharp jackets and mariner references throughout.
