Homme Plissé Issey Miyake
Homme Plissé Issey Miyake launched in 2013, applying the garment-pleating technique Miyake Design Studio had been developing since 1988 to a full men's wardrobe. Each piece is cut and sewn oversized, then pressed between layers of paper under heat so the pleats become permanent. The result is clothing that is light, quick-drying, resistant to creasing, machine washable and flat-packable, the reason the pleated trousers have a following of their own. The range covers those trousers alongside pleated jackets and blazers, shirts, long-sleeved tops, wide shorts, coats and tote bags, in blacks, greys, navy and seasonal brights, sized to move with the body rather than fit it closely.
