Comme Des Garçons
Rei Kawakubo has designed Comme des Garçons since 1969, and at 84 she still leads every collection from the house's Paris studio. The mainline is where the experiments happen: padded and protruding panels, shirred and ruched volume, tulle and lace layered into sculptural dresses, coats and jackets rebuilt with seams left open and proportions pushed off the body. Black remains the foundation, her Fall/Winter 2026 collection was titled Ultimately Black, cut with white, occasional shocks of pink, and surfaces worked in velvet, satin, chiffon and embroidery. Expect skirts, tailoring and knitwear that read as construction as much as clothing.
