For Spring/Summer 2026, Max Mara looks to Madame de Pompadour, the “Queen of Rococo,” as its muse, translating her intellect, power and artistic influence into a modern city wardrobe. Instead of costume drama, the collection filters Rococo through clean, architectural lines and precise tailoring, creating what critics have dubbed a kind of “reduction Rococo.”
Max Mara’s iconic trench appears with shoulders that unfurl into petal‑like crests, described as more “Versailles garden than city sidewalk.” Pencil skirts stay trim but sprout gauzy, fin‑like crests at the hip, while organza skirts are built from hundreds of cut and folded “petals,” giving sculptural volume without heaviness.
