Ganni began in Copenhagen in 2000 as a small cashmere label founded by gallerist Frans Truelsen, and became the brand it is now when Ditte and Nicolaj Reffstrup took it over in 2009, with Ditte as creative director. The clothes are built for everyday wear with a Copenhagen sensibility: smock and midi dresses, crochet and statement knitwear, matching sets, softly cut tailoring, graphic T-shirts and off-duty denim, plus ballerina flats and boots. Leopard print functions as a house neutral, joined each season by bold colour, florals and seersucker. Now shown in Paris rather than Copenhagen, the collections stay firmly Danish in spirit, practical pieces you can layer and repeat.
